For PODE, RENS developed a new process for colouring objects with paint. The designers researched colour technology employed by the design label – and explored opportunities for new applications.
In the workplace, experiments were carried out with the nozzle opening, the distance between paint dispenser and object, and various viscosities and transparencies of paint. The lacquer was applied to various types of timber, textile panels (by Kvadrat), and glass. To be able to furnish metal panels with a colour, powder coatings with different degrees of coverage were employed.
Through stretching the boundaries of familiar production methods, the designers and PODE’s specialists arrived at a colouring process that is applicable for various designs and products. Employing this method, RENS is currently working on a new series of round and oval designs. It is expected that these will be presented next year.
